Laut dem offiziellen Blog plant Google ein eigenes Betriebssystem zu veröffentlichen. Namentlich heisst es Google Chrome OS, wirklich kreativ Chrome OS ist mehrheitlich geplant für Notebooks. Dieser Ausschnitt beschreibt es sehr genau:

Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010. Because we’re already talking to partners about the project, and we’ll soon be working with the open source community, we wanted to share our vision now so everyone understands what we are trying to achieve.

Chrome OS verwendet anschneinend ein eigenes “Windowing System” und basiert auf einem Linux Kernel. Applikationen basieren direkt auf dem Web und können somit durch Standards einfach erweitert werden. Diese Applikationen sind jedoch nicht nur für das Chrome OS zugeschnitten, sondern laufen in jedem standardtisierten Browser auch auf Windows, Mac und Linux.

Ich bin mal gespannt wie das OS ausschauen wird und was Go**gle noch alles an Daten sammeln wird…
